Lend a Hand, Make a Home 🛠️ Become a Maintenance Support Volunteer!

Do you enjoy working with your hands and want to make a meaningful impact? WINGS Shelter is searching for a committed, hands-on volunteer to assist with light building repairs and maintenance. Your skills can directly help families in need as they move into a safe and welcoming space. 💙

✨ What You'll Do:

Prepare apartments for new families by moving furniture in and out of suites (must be able to lift 50 lbs).

Stock and decorate apartments with housewares, bedding, and create welcoming packages for families.

Assemble furniture for apartments and common spaces to create a warm, homey environment.

Assist with various odd jobs and maintenance tasks throughout the year.

🕒 Flexible Schedule:

6 hours per week (weekday availability preferred).

Flexible hours that may vary week to week based on needs.

💪 What We’re Looking For:

A positive attitude, a willingness to jump in, and the ability to lift and move furniture.

Someone who enjoys organizing, decorating, and making spaces feel inviting.

Dedication to volunteering with a minimum commitment of 6 months.

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? WINGS is currently seeking kind, dedicated, and energetic volunteers to support our childcare programs!

We’re looking for volunteers in two areas:

🌟 Out of School Care Program (Ages 6–11)

Join our after-school program and help engage school-aged children in fun games, creative activities, and outdoor play.
🕒 Time: Weekdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
📚 Extras: Occasional full days on PD Days
💥 Perfect for those who love active, playful afternoons with kids!

🌿 Rocky Forest Daycare (Ages 3 Months–5 Years)

Support our daytime childcare team and help nurture our youngest residents through stories, crafts, imaginative play, and care routines.
🕒 Time: Weekdays during the day (morning or afternoon shifts available)
💖 Ideal for those with a calm, patient presence and a love for little ones.

✅ Volunteer Requirements:

A minimum 6-month commitment

Must be 18+ and reliable

Criminal Record Check & Intervention Record Check (we’ll guide you through this)

Interview required so we can get to know you

Childcare Certification (Level I, II, or III) or experience with children is an asset
