Second Flight Children’s Boutique - Sales on Pause

Over the past year, we’ve listened, learned, and reflected on how to better meet the everyday needs of the families we serve at WINGS. One thing became clear: access to clothing, home essentials, and personal care items is more than just a service, it’s a critical part of helping families feel safe, comfortable, and empowered as they rebuild their lives.

As we work to ensure we can best meet the needs of the families we serve, we will be taking a temporary pause on the sale of items through Second Flight. We look forward to updating you soon!

What is Second Flight?

The Second Flight Children’s Boutique is an Edmonton-based social enterprise program that supports WINGS – Women In Need Growing Stronger. All items sold or used in the Second Flight program are donated by the community, and 100% of the proceeds help those fleeing domestic violence.

When in-kind donations are received by WINGS, they are sorted, allocated, and distributed to WINGS’ internal programs and services to ensure families living at WINGS have access to free essential items, including clothing, children’s items, household goods, toiletries, and more. The program provides necessities free of charge to more than 300 women and children each year who are fleeing domestic violence.

Any children’s items, such as children’s clothing not needed by WINGS families or unsuitable for internal programs, are sold online via WINGS’ Second Flight Boutique. The Second Flight program not only provides new and pre-loved essential children’s items and clothing free of charge to families at WINGS who are escaping domestic violence but also offers low-cost, quality children’s items for sale to the public, with all proceeds from sales being used to support critical services at WINGS for families who deserve a second chance at a life free from abuse.

Second Flight is the only second-hand non-profit children’s online store in the Edmonton area and partners with local children's businesses and community members, providing charitable tax receipts for the donation of new or high-quality used children’s items.

The carefully curated selection of new and pre-loved children’s apparel, toys, and accessories allows customers to choose an environmentally and socially conscious retail and resale option.
